The Kano State government has revoked the operating licenses of all private schools in the state. The revocation came on the hills of the abduction and murder of a five-year old Hannifa by the proprietor of the school where she was attending.

The revocation of licenses was ordered this Monday by the State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje. The little Hannifa was abducted and a substantial sum of money extorted from her parents as ransome and later killed and her corpse buried in a shallow grave.

The issue has been generating concerns as the proprietor and his accomplices have been arrested for prosecution.. As at last night, Sunday, some unknown persons had set the school block on fire.
