Yinka Odumakin, Afenifere spokesperson, dies

Mr. Yinka Odumakin the spokesperson of the pan Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere has died this saturday morning from what sources said were complications of Covid-19 in a hospital in Lagos. He was said to have been hospitalised since last week.

The late Odumakin has been one of the strongest critics of mal-administration in Nigeria and had paid his dues in human rights activitism along with his wife, Joe Okei-Odumakin. Just last week he released to the media a long epistle on Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the acclaimed leader of All Peoples Congress, APC, who has been in the news over discrepancies in his published age. Odumakin was strident in his belief that contrary to the 69 years which Tinubu claims was his age, that the politician was over 80 years. He described him as someone with dubious lifestyle and should not be trusted.

Details of the funeral arrangements would be released by the family, later.
