World Autism Awareness Day: First Lady celebrate strengths, creativity of individuals, families

First Lady of Nigeria,  Oluremi Tinubu, in his message to mark World Autism Awareness Day, has emphasised the importance of recognising and celebrating the unique strengths and creativity of individuals on the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). 

She commended their resilience and highlighted the challenges faced by families supporting loved ones with autism, acknowledging their unwavering love and dedication.

Mrs. Tinubu underscored the vital role played by community organisations in providing essential support, resources, and opportunities for individuals with autism and their families.

She emphasised the significance of early diagnosis and intervention in enabling those with autism to reach their full potential, urging parents and caregivers to remain vigilant about developmental milestones and seek professional help promptly if any concerns arise.

The First Lady’s message resonated with a call to action, emphasizing the collective effort needed to create a world where individuals, regardless of their challenges, are empowered, included, and celebrated for their unique gifts.
