Supreme Court: NNPP Supporters jubilate in Kano

Supporters of Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State have taken to a few locations in the capital to express their happiness over their victory at the Supreme Court.

At a few locations in the state capital, they rode in their vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles at screeching speed, shouting on top of their voices as they expressed gratitude to Allah.

Saturday Sun observed the jubilant supporters along Bompai area, near the residence of leader of the party, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Some of the young ones were also sighted dancing and singing on the streets of the city, shouting, “ Sai Abba.”

It was also observed that some supporters stayed at the shops, kiosks and other safer locations to discuss the outcome of the Supreme Court judgment.

The celebrants, who donned the traditional red caps of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, defied the security presence at strategic locations. They were, however, peaceful in their celebrations.

Earlier in the day, the streets of Kano metropolis were largely deserted. Schools were shut while many business outlets did not open out of the fear of the unknown.
