Okupe resigns as Obi’s Campaign DG

Following his conviction by a Federal High Court for money laundering, Doyin Okupe has resigned his position as the Director-General ,Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council.

In a letter he personally signed and addressed to the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, he said that he decided to resign to avoid distraction. He alluded to the court judgment which he had already paid a fine of N13million and urged Obi to appoint a replacement who can work without distraction.

Mr Obi seems to have accepted his resignation and was reported to have vowed to move on with his presidential ambition regardless.
