The duo of the managing Director of the Nigeria Ports Authority( NPA) Mohammed Bello Koko and the MD of NIMASA Ibrahim Jamoh, has come under heavy criticism owing to alleged financial and administrative misconducts.
An APC chieftain, Dr Garus Gololo, during a media briefing in Abuja Wednesday, appealed to the administration of President Bola Tinubu to quickly heed to the advice of sacking the duo for flaunting FG public service rules.
Dr Gololo, further noted that so many things have gone wrong in the past and still going wrong presently in NIMASA and NPA.
Dr Gololo, said: “It worries me that when Adisa Bala Usman was sacked from Nigeria Ports Authority, NPA, Mohammed Koko took over in acting capacity and four years down the line we are still seeing the same person who began in acting capacity as the Managing Director of the NPA.
My plea to the presidency, is that Koko, should be sacked and not only to be sacked, he should be his office should be exposed to a foreign sick auditing to ensure that nothing is hidden. We should be able to know what his leadership, met on ground and what he is leaving behind. A country like Nigeria, should be weary of adverse effects of corruption”.
He, reminded that Adisa Bala Usman, was sacked due to corruption related offences. Yet the case ended like that, “as you can see, there was no investigation, no prosecution only for us to see her again back at the corridor of power under the present administration.
Further speaking, Dr Gololo alleged that Nigeria can better be described as a place where those who steal public funds rule those who make the money, stressing that such act also happened in Bauchi State, where the former FCT Minister after being released from Kuje prison for misappropriation of public funds eventually became the Governor of the state.
“You see this is getting out of hand. My opinion is that before anyone takes a fresh appointment, he or she must be careful investigated thoroughly with the involvement of all the anti graft agencies. And if found worthy, why not the person can be reappointed. But if we fail to get it right this time, we are headed to nowhere. And I am no longer certified with what DSS and EFCC are doing in terms of investigation of government appointees and always given them clean bill of health,” he stated.
The APC chieftain observed that the same thing goes for NIMASA MD Ibrahim Jamoh, saying that he should quietly and honourably take a bow and go. “He was brought in to NIMASA by his in-law Tunde; he wasn’t even appointed by the president then. These are the people who looted this country and made Nigeria to be one of the most indebted nation in the whole world . This is tax payers money I was expecting a total probe of Ministers who worked with former President Buhari, to come out and tell us what they did during this 8 years of administration.”
The APC Chieftain, further reiterated that Nigerians should be made to know how they performed through a foreign sick auditing, especially Minister of Budget and Finance, who was holding two ministries under her. They have made the money and that is why they are all getting ready to contest for the number one position in this country, come 2027, and it is so funny that everyone wants to be President in Nigeria at the same time.
He said that ethnicity, religion, made millions of Nigeria chose to die in silence under excruciating pain.
“Nigerians are mostly the problems themselves. No one is ready to come out and speak like I am doing now. Everyone sits back to protect his religion or ethnic background. I am a Fulani man from Bauchi State but that cannot make me to advocate for bad governance and anything that would aid corruption just because of covering up my brother from same ethnic background or religion. I want Mr. President to heed to this advice. He has listing ears and that would save Nigeria a lot in future
Meanwhile, Dr Gololo has chided the Economic and financial crimes commission EFCC,on negligence of duties, while going after yahoo boys who make a meagre 2 million naira. He said that those who commit heinous crimes are those who sit at government offices with a pen in between their fingers, billions disappears.
” It is obvious that what is going on with Godwin Emefiele, is what supposed to go after looters of public funds. But the question is this, where is the former Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika?, a little boy who lied to the entire Nation on getting us a national carrier. One of the terrible days he went to Ethiopia and painted one of the aircraft and brought it to Nigeria, an hour later the plane flew away and never came back what a shame. Do you know how much he spent on that charade.
“One of them is former Minister of Budget and Finance, she should come out on live television programme to justify approved amounts during her tenure and how they were spent. She need to educate Nigerians on which projects they spent the monies on. ” Like I said, how can police and EFCC, be going after Yahoo boys arresting and arresting one-chance and pick pocket with 3-4 years jail term but leaving behind those who commit real crimes in the country.”
