Gunmen disguised themselves as security men have killed a lawyer in Imo State. The legal practitioner simply as Omekannaya was shot in the chest at a close range on Wednesday by the assailants who trailed him to a supermarket in Okporo Orlu community in Orlu council area of the state.

Police spokesman Michael Abattam confirmed the incident.

In Rivers, a woman was abducted in Obio/Akpor council area.

The woman was said to be driving when the gunmen blocked her on Wednesday and took her away, leaving her vehicle at the scene. Police spokesman Nnamdi Omoni said the matter was yet to be reported to his office.
