A report reaching drumnewsonline says that the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC in Njaba Local Government Area of IMO State has been set on fire this Sunday afternoon by unknown persons. In a statement signed by Barr. Festus Okoye, National Commissioner in charge of Education and Enlightenment, the Commission regretted that the incident came about a week after another Commission’s office in Ahiazu Mbaise was burnt down bringing the number of INEC offices attacked in IMO State to 8.

INEC observed that a total of 42 of its offices nation wide had been attacked which it said, was inimical to its operations.

The Nigeria Police is said to have begun investigations of the issue
