The Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, Most. Rev. Dr. Peter Okpaleke, has been elevated to the rank of Cardinal of the Catholic Church by Pope Francis. He was among the 21 Bishops recently elevated by the Supreme Pontiff days back.
