Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the appointment of Igor Tudor as interim head coach after the Croatian informed the club he is ready to accept a short-term contract until June.

Negotiations are understood to be at an advanced stage, with Spurs keen to finalise the agreement as soon as possible following the dismissal of Thomas Frank earlier this week.

The club are seeking stability for the remainder of the season as they look to steady performances and results.

Tudor, who has previous managerial experience in Serie A and Ligue 1, is seen as a candidate capable of guiding the team through the final months of the campaign.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano on Friday, Romano said, “Igor Tudor has informed Tottenham he’s ready to accept a short term deal until June as #THFC interim coach. Negotiations at advanced stages, as revealed by @MatteMoretto today.

Roberto De Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino are regarded as the leading candidates for the permanent role.

Pochettino, who previously managed Spurs, is currently in charge of the United States men’s national soccer team, while De Zerbi recently left Olympique de Marseille by mutual consent.
