A Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has discharged and acquitted the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The court in a ruling today, Thursday, 13th October, 2022 ruled that KANU was innocent of the charges preferred against him by the Government. The Appeal Court ruled that the process of abduction and kidnapping of Nnamdi Kanu and forcibly brought him to Nigeria to stand trial was illegal. And that the Federal High Court lacks the jurisdiction to try him.
