The wife of the out gone governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano threw caution to the wind when she engaged the wife of the late leader of All Progressives Grand Alliance,Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu at the swearing in ceremony of her husband’s successor, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, and got a slap in the bargain. According to eyewitness report, Mrs Obiano was said to have on arrival at the ceremony when most dignitaries were seated, had gone round the front row to greet some people walked up to where Bianca was sitting and queried her why she attended the event despite her, Bianca’s vow and declaration that she would not be attending APGA events. She went further to call her a bitch and ashawo(prostitute) which made Bianca to slap her on the face and remove her wig. It was not clear if Mrs Ojukwu provoked her before the event but it was clear there was no love lost between the two. Bianca has not been attending Anambra government functions for sometime due to some political differences. It was an open secret that Mrs Obiano never wanted Bianca near her husband, Willie.
Security agents were said to have swung into action to extricate Mrs Obiano from the clutches of Bianca who was said to have held her. The husband and former governor, Willie Obiano was visibly embarrassed. Mrs Obiano was led to her seat and was over heard clearly shouting some invectives on Bianca . After the show of shame, Willie Obiano hurriedly left the venue shortly after his successor was sworn in by the State Chief Judge and signed up the register.
Meanwhile, Professor Charles Soludo has taken over the reign of power as the governor of Anambra State and was said to have proceeded to Okpoko, a slum settlement near the commercial city of Onitsha. He had promised to start his tour of duty at the area to put things right.
Details of his first day in office will come later.
