National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), an umbrella body of  Nigerian youth organisations, has felicitated with the Minister of Youth and Sport, Mr Solomon Dalung, on his 54th birthday. The Director of Media and Publicity of NYCN, Malam Gambo Jagindi, made this known in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.

Jagindi said the council cancelled all official engagements to celebrate the birthday of Dalung, described as custodian of the NYCN. He stated that the council commended the minister’s sacrifice, patriotism and loyalty to the country. He added that “on behalf of over 70 million Nigerian youths both at home and abroad, NYCN wishes to felicitate with the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Solomon Dalung.

“The NYCN today cancelled all official engagements to celebrate the 54th birthday of the minister at its office in Wuse Zone 3, Abuja. The council decided to honour the minister in reflection to his achievements  in the last two years.” He quoted the President of NYCN, Malam Murtala Garba, as describing Dalung as “a wonderful boss, a role model and most inspiring superior that everyone would like to work with.”

He prayed that Allah would continue to bless the minister with good health and wisdom to steer the affairs of Nigerian youths.
