Two more bodies recovered from collapsed building

Two more bodies have been recovered from the collapsed three-storey building at Ebute Meta bringing the death toll to eight.

The deceased, comprising five males and three females, were all recovered Monday morning, hours after the building collapsed.

The owner of the building has narrated how he asked all occupants to quit but they refused.

The man, who inherited the property from his father, told emergency workers at the scene that he had to vacate the house and rented accommodation nearby when it was discovered to be defective.

He said he gave all the tenants quit notice and had not collected rent since then.
