Tinubu to commission projects in Borno today

A National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,  is expected to inaugurate some projects executed  by the present administration in Borno State. Some of the projects executed by the state Governor, Kashim Shettima’s  administration to be inaugurated by Tinubu include the 432 resettlement houses for the victims of Boko Haram in three villages; 13 primary and junior secondary schools, a general hospital and five primary health centres. Others are irrigation dams, mobile fish ponds and economic empowerment scheme for village women.

The Commissioner for Local Government and Emirate Affairs and Chairman of the Projects Inauguration Committee, Alhaji Usman Zanna, said in a statement on Sunday that Tinubu would  be the first distinguished leader invited by Shettima to inaugurate a series of projects executed by his administration. He said, “This is to show that in the face of the Boko Haram insurgency, the governor has made a telling impact on the development of the state.”

According to the statement, Tinubu is also expected to inaugurate 26 luxury apartments of five detached three-storey buildings located in Maiduguri to serve as residence for medical doctors which Shettima has named ‘Bola Tinubu Court’. The statement revealed that most of the projects to be inaugurated were in  six villages – Ngamdu, Benisheikh, Mainta Kururi, Tamsukawu, Mainok and Auno located in Kaga and Konduga local government areas of Borno State.

The commissioner revealed that after Tinubu’s visit, the wife of the late despot, Maryam Abacha, would visit the state to inaugurate a 250-bed ultra modern hospital for women and children named after her.
