The India 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup kicks off at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi, on Friday with Colombia taking on Ghana in the opener. The second game of the day will see New Zealand facing Turkey in Group B.
Although Nigeria will not be defending their title in India after the Golden Eaglets failed to qualify for the tournament, pay TV firm StarTimes has promised Nigerian football fans live broadcast of the matches. The 24-team championship ends on October 28.
Ghana, Guinea, Mali and Niger will be representing Africa at the tournament. Other countries are Iraq, Iran, Japan, Korea DPR, Spain, Turkey, England, Germany, Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, USA, New Caledonia and New Zealand.The rest are Paraguay, Chile, Brazil and Colombia.
