Revealed! Why FAAN offices were set on fire. Happened the day EFCC officials were to visit for some documents

Facts emerged yesterday that the fire that engulfed the offices of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria last Tuesday, was a well hatched plan to stall the visit of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission officials who were billed to be at the headquarters to collect some documents for their investigation.

A source told Drum news online that it was a cover up and wondered “how a fire could have started when all the staff were in the office and went out of hand without detection. Even, the fire fighting equipment, under the control of FAAN, within the airport could not be mobilised to the site to quell the fire, instead, it took the Lagos fire service to come and do that”. the source queried. The source described FAAN as a cesspool of corruption pointing out that ” a lot happens within that organization”.

Drum news online learnt that the Authority has been under investigation for sometime and officials of EFCC were billed to visit the office and collect some documents the day the fire burnt. Ironically, it started at the Audit dept and destroyed everything that would have been used by the EFCC in its investigations.

Efforts to get the reaction of staffers of the Authority was stalled as no one was willing to comment on the issue.
