A legal luminary and Professor at the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT, Professor Agu Gab Agu and Assoc. Prof. Adakole E. Odike of National Open University of Nigeria, are set to make a public presentation of two books: Nigerian and International Humanitarian Law and Modern Nigeria Family Law on Tuesday, 3rd May, 2022.
The public presentation will take place at the Justice Innocent A. Umezulike Auditorium within the premises of the Enugu State High Court, Independence Layout, Enugu and to be hosted by the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi by 1pm prompt.
The two books are the latest additions to the nation’s legal jurisprudence and have the imprimatur of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Mohammed and the retiring Justice Mary Ukaego Peter – Odil also of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, respectively. Justice Tanko Mohammed in his Foreward observed that the International Humanitarian Law “has not received attention in Nigeria until lately. In all honesty, I admire the comprehensive research carried out by the author. His brilliant and articulate presentation, analysis and conclusion on all the issues discussed have shown his mastery of all the thematic areas”.
He therefore recommended the book “to all those in the academia, judges, legal practitioners, administrators, students of law and the general public”.
Justice Mary Peter-Odili in her Foreward for Modern Nigeria Family Law jointly authored by Professors Agu and Odike, described the book as a “great masterpiece which will enrich even the already intellectual while being an academic teaching project for students. The language is simple and easily understood by even those not connected with law and therefore an added advantage since it would enable all persons know their left to their right as far as Family law is concerned”
The public presentation’s will be attended by eminent Nigerians from Legal and other spheres of endeavour.
