Former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Tuesday morning appeared at the Federal High Court, Lagos in Muslim regalia. Kalu was in the court for the continuation of his trial for allegedly defrauding Abia State of billions of naira.
Justice Mohammed Idris stood down the case for 45 minutes to enable defence lawyer have some citation to back their grounds of objection to the prosecution’s demand from the PW4, Romanus Madu.
Madu, a Permanent Secretary in Abia State, is currently giving evidence in court.
He told the court that there were some names of people, including his name alleged to have collected millions of naira, as written in various bank drafts issued by Fidelity Bank.
