Miss work on Mondays and be sanctioned, Governor Soludo warns public servants

The newly sworn in Executive Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo has directed that all public servants must be reporting to work on Mondays pointing out that anyone that flouts the directive be sanctioned. In a statement signed by the Head of Service, Anambra State, Barrister Theodora Igwegbe, the governor stated that the new directive was borne out of the need to reposition the State Service for better performance and productivity.

The directive which takes immediate effect would attract severe sanctions in case of flouting.

It would be recalled that commercial and government businesses shut down every Monday in the Southeast due to the sit-at- home order imposed by the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB. All efforts by the government to enforce normal work regimen in the zone had proved abortive.

It is yet to be seen if the new directive of Soludo would bring reprieve to the people of Anambra.
