JUST IN: Abiodun becomes first Gov to receive COVID-19 vaccine

Ogun Governor Dapo Abiodun on Tuesday became the first Governor to receive the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Abiodun’s inoculation came three days after President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo received the vaccination.

He was vaccinated by Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, in Abeokuta on Tuesday. With the governor taking his publicly, members of the State Executive Council would be the next in line to get vaccinated.

The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello has rejected the vaccine stating that he would not take a jab and would not force any Kogi indigene to take as they were no guinea pigs.
