International flights resume at Enugu, Port Harcourt and Kano

The Federal Government has announced resumption dates for international flights at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, Port Harcourt Airport and Kano Airport.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika says international flights would resume on May 3, 2021 in Enugu, April, 15th in Port Harcourt and April, 5th in Kano airport.

The Minister who was speaking at the weekly briefing of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 in Abuja said that the resumption of international flights at these airports was due to agitations to reopen the airports. He said that their resumption was delayed to enable the government to put in place machinery to manage Covid-19 at the airports. “Now that we have most of the things in place due to the work by the PTF, we will be opening Enugu Airport on the 3rd of May, 2021, Kano on april 5th, 2021 and Port Harcourt on April 15th, 2021.

It would be recalled that some members of the House of Representatives went to his office and charged him to reopen the airports as their continued closure was affecting the economies of the zones.
