Barely one clear month after the death of renowned gospel singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu in the hands of her pastor husband and the public odium and interest it attracted, another Pentecostal pastor in Enugu is on the same route of exterminating his wife of just few years in marriage. The said pastor has turned his young wife into a punching bag even when she was heavily pregnant, leaving her with bodily bruises, calling her unprintable names, always lock her out of the house with their infant of less than a year. and subject them to the vagaries of the weather.

The semi bald pastor(names withheld) said to be from Enugu State has his church, ‘Grace without confirmation'(Not real name) on Amaigbo Street(lane), Uwani, en route to the popular College of Immaculate Conception, Enugu, on a property directly behind that of a commercial bank that abuts Zik avenue, lives with his wife in WTC Estate, Enugu. His church shares the same building with a branch of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG. A source which lives in the same estate with the couple disclosed that each time the pastor had issues with the wife he would come out on their apartment’s balcony and be shouting on top of his voice calling her a liability, a “borehole’ and other unprintable names and compares her to other women in his life and in extreme cases beat her before locking her and her baby out in the cold at nights and days and leave with the house keys.

Drumnewsonline gathered from the source who prefers anonymity that for uncountable times, neighbours had to gather to separate fight between them and most of them have gotten used to the pastors way of beating her that they do not come out anymore whenever noise starts emanating from their apartment. The source squealed; ” if care is not taken, that man would kill that young lady’ someday”.

Further investigation by Drumnewsonline revealed that the lady who goes by the name Chioma, from Anambra State, was working with a commercial bank in Abuja before she got married and had to resign in other to join her husband and consummate fully her marriage to the ‘General Senior Prophet”, a sobriquet the pastor uses as his title on the Church’s billboard. However, she is now being seen by her husband as a liability and one that contributes nothing to the upkeep of their home.

It is not very clear how the pastor deals with his congregation and counsels them on good family life going by his conducts at home towards his married wife. A member of the congregation interviewed by Drumnewsonline about the pastor refused to comment but simply shook her head. Also not clear is, if the family of the lady knows about the ordeal of their daughter in the hands of their violent pastor inlaw whether their daughter had summoned the courage to fully brief them on her plight.

It would be recalled that upon the death of the renowned singer, Osinachi, some of her family members spoke up that they were never in the full picture of what their daughter was going through until her death, while some knew played the ostrich.
