Enugu advert agent held over offensive billboards

Operatives of the Enugu Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Enugu State last Saturday arrested an outdoor advertisement executive over political advertisements that appeared in some billboards in Enugu metropolis.

The Super 48 Sheet billboards, which bore the name and logo of the commission, also bore offensive messages using the name of the EFCC to threaten the aspiration of some politicians in the state in the buildup to the 2023 general elections.

The billboards may not be unconnected to a recent campaign allegedly sponsored by a governorship aspirant to discredit his rivals.

The campaign has been widely condemned.

The billboards have been dismantled by the EFCC.
