Ekiti ex-surveyor-general’s widow abducted from residence, Amotekun joins search

SUSPECTED gunmen have kidnapped Mrs Funmilola Osalusi, the widow of the late former surveyor-general of Ekiti State, Mr Oladapo Osalusi, who died barely a year ago. The widow, who is a staff of Ado Local Government, was said to be trailed to her house where she was kidnapped at the gate of their compound along Ado – Ijan Road at about 9pm on Saturday.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Police Command, Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the kidnap on Monday, said police and other security agencies, including Amotekun Corps, had begun operations to secure her release. Abutu said the woman was abducted from her residence near the office of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Federal Polytechnic road, in Ado Ekiti metropolis by three gun-wielding men.

The police spokesman said, “The incident happened around 9:20pm in the evening. The armed men numbering three were said to have knocked the gate of the victim’s residence and tricked her outside. The Police Commissioner, Babatunde Mobayo, has deployed detectives to the bushes around where the woman was taken to rescue her out of the kidnappers’ den.”
