Delta commissioner escapes kidnap attempt

Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas Chief Emman Amgbaduba has reportedly escaped from a suspected kidnap attempt in the Warri area of the state.

Amgbaduba’s vehicle was intercepted by the daredevil suspected kidnappers at about 7 pm along NPA road in Warri on Saturday.

The commissioner who is popularly called ‘Oziko’ confirmed the attempted kidnap in a post on his Facebook page.

Amgbaduba wrote: “Dear all, I want you to help me to thank God as the Almighty God protected me from the hands of kidnappers yesterday at about 7 pm on my way into Warri Town, at the NPA expressway.

“A beige-coloured Toyota Camry rammed into me and forced my vehicle to come to a halt and two hefty young men popped out from the front seat of the car, one at the back and one guy rushing towards me.

“Without panicking, I put my car in reverse and faced the thug that came out from the passenger side of the car at full speed ahead, while he jumped off the road I drove off and had a successful get-away.

“While I thank God for His protection, I advise us all to be vigilant, especially in the Warri axis.

“I be God pikin o, they can try but e no go work, I give praises to God for his protection always.”
