BREAKING: Two feared dead as police, IPOB clash in Enugu

There was a palpable tension in Enugu State on Sunday when policemen clashed with members of the Indigenous People of Biafra at Emene, a surbub of Enugu State capital. The problem was said to have started when the police invaded a gathering of suspected IPOB member sand trued to dusperse them, which they resisted. It was gathered that the face-off resulted in the young men overpowering the police which led to the arrival of a reinforcement of security agents which included the Army.

Drumnewsonline learnt that the reinforcement immediately opened fire on them and about two persons died and several injured.

An eyewitness said over 10 IPOB members were arrested. Efforts to reach the Enugu Police Public Relations Officer, Daniel Ndukwe, were not successful as of the time of filling this report.

Also, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdurraham, did not answer his calls.
