*Amobi Ogah pays courtesy call on Ihe Abia, promises to uphold accountability in government*

The Labour Party, LP candidate for the 2023 Isuikwuato/Umunneochi federal constituency, Chief Amobi Ogah on Wednesday August 24, 2022 paid a courtesy visit to Ihe Abia, a non-governmental organisation committed to good governance and accountability, at the Enugu residence of Ichie Emeka Okpara, the Convener of Ihe Abia.
Ogah who led his entourage comprising of political heavyweights from Isuikwuato/Umunnoechi was in Enugu to brief members of Ihe Abia on his ambition to represent the good people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi at the House of Representatives in 2023.
Receiving Chief Ogah in his residence, Ichie Okpara thanked him for recognising Ihe Abia as a potent voice in Abia politics whose sole aim is to enthrone accountability and good governance at all levels in Abia State and beyond. He said the time has come for the vibrant youth of Abia State to take back their great State and move it to the next level of growth and development.
Addressing members of Ihe Abia, Chief Amobi Ogah recounted his foray into politics and promised that he will be a good representative of the people once he receives their mandate in 2023. Ogah also said he was not in politics for personal gains because as a young man he was already successful in his private business adding that his motivation was to serve the people.
“My mission in politics is to ensure that our people are well represented and served at all levels. God has already blessed us as a people and we have no reason to lack. We can do better than we are doing now. The resources are there, all we need is a good manager to deploy those resources appropriately to serve the people and not for wastage. That is the leadership I am able to provide because I have done it successfully in my private life as a businessman”. I am not in politics to make money. By the grace and mercy of God, I have already acquired the basic things of life and more. I am a successful businessman and I am content with what God has given me at a very young age.”, Oga said.
Continuing, he said he was standing on equity and fairness in his ambition because it is the rightful turn of Uturu in Isuikwuato LGA to produce the next representative for the fed constituency since their sister local government, Umunnneochi has done 16 years at a stretch.
Responding to Ogah on behalf of Ihe Abia, Ichie Emeka Okpara said Ihe Abia was delighted to associate with anyone that is committed to accountability and good governance and assured that Ihe Abia would do everything possible to enthrone good governance in Abia State.
“I am happy that vibrant young men like Chief Amobi Ogah are stepping into the fray in Abia politics. This is the time for us to take back our State and our country from those that have led us astray for so long. If we do not do it, nobody would do it for us. I have always insisted that only Abians can build Abia and anything we give is what we will receive. If we give good men power, we will reap good governance and if we give bad leaders power, we will also receive bad governance. There are no two ways about it”, Okpara said.
He encouraged Chief Ogah to remain focussed and steadfast in the pursuit of his ambition and trust that God will crown his efforts with success.
Other members of Ihe Abia present at the occasion are Chief Frank Egwu, General Manager of Superjet Limited, Rotr. Kelechi Ebo, immediate past president of Rotary International, GRA Enugu Branch, Eze Kennedy Ohiri and Mr. Chukwuma Okoro, Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director of Complete Politics among others.
