Akanu Ibiam Airport: Int’l flights resume Oct. 1st

There are indications that international flights would resume at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu October 1st, 2021. Drumnewsonline gathered that arrangements are in top gear towards actualising the flight resumption which had suffered many postponements. An airport official who wants to be anonymous, confirmed the situation to Drumnewsonline yesterday.

It would be recalled that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority the regulatory organ of all aviation issues issued a 58-point demand to the airport to address before international flights could resume at the airport. The demand was viewed by many as punitive and political in nature and raised eyebrows as to why such would be issued to the airport authorities.

However, watchers in aviation sector are expectant that the airport be opened up to international flights to enhance the revenue base of the country which is undergoing a harrowing stage.
