22 Eagles commence training in Uyo

About 22 Super Eagles players have reported at the teams’ Le Meridien Hotel camp in Uyo to begin the battle for shirts ahead of the 2019 AFCON qualifying match against South Africa on Saturday. The technical crew departed Abuja with seven players on ground at about 2pm yesterday to meet the other foreign based players who had already landed to welcome them as they hit Uyo for the much important match.

Rohr told reporters on arrival Monday afternoon from Abuja that 22 players are now in camp ahead of Saturday’s AFCON 2019 qualifier against South Africa. He noted that the only players that are being expected are Ahmed Musa and newly wedded Elderson Echiejile “Ahmed Musa and Elderson will join us tomorrow (today),” disclosed the Eagles coach, who noted that the team would be targeting its third straight win in Uyo on Saturday. We are happy to be in Uyo and we are looking to win a third straight game here. We want to qualify for Nations Cup because it’s a fantastic adventure.” He said.

The Eagles will be expected to step up preparations for Saturday’s AFCON 2019 Qualifiers against South Africa, with full training ahead of the clash set to begin today. The first badge of seven players to arrive the camp were led by captain Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu, Henry Onyekuru, Victor Osimhen, Daniel Akpeyi, Olarewaju Kayode and Dele Alampasu were all among the first callers.

Meanwhile Alex Iwobi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Ibrahim Alhassan and Tyronne Ebuehi all left Abuja around 2pm Nigerian time for Uyo.
