Mr Peter Obi, firmer governor of Anambra State, was this Monday 30th May, 2022 afternoon named the presidential candidate of Labour Party at the national convention of the party at Orchid Hotel, in Asaba, Delta State. A renowned professor of Economics, Pat Utomi stepped down for Mr Obi to emerge.

It would be recalled that Obi, who until recently, the foremost candidate on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP resigned his membership of the party and his presidential bid due to what he described as actions against his principle.

He observed that the politics playing out in his former party were purely monetized and against the grain of modern day democracy.
