This was dIsclosed in a statement issued by Mr Uchechukwu Olisah, the Assistant Director Media/Protocol of NABTEB, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Benin.

He stated that the decision was reached during a meeting between the registrar of NABTEB, Dr Aminu Mohammed and the registrar of NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi at NECO headquarters in Minna.

He explained that both chief executives led their management teams in deliberations, aimed at strengthening examination administration and advancing shared institutional objectives.

He quoted the NABTEB boss as emphasising the importance of synergy among examination bodies, adding that collaboration remained critical to national development.

He said the meeting provided an opportunity to renew and deepen institutional partnership through learning-based engagement.

Mohammed called for broader coordination among examination bodies, including the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and the National Board for Arabic and Islamic Studies (NBAIS).

He, however, acknowledged their distinct operational mandates.

On his part, Wushishi described the engagement as a major step towards strengthening cooperation between both institutions.

He said NABTEB’s visit reflected strong institutional goodwill and expressed NECO’s enthusiasm for renewed collaboration.

The establishment of the 10-member technical committee, comprising five representatives from each organisation, was to develop operational frameworks, harmonise strategies and recommend implementation modalities to chief executives.
