An Appeal Court sitting in Port Harcourt this Friday declared Senator Ali Modu Sheriff the Acting Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party. The judgement was delivered by a panel of three judges who in a majority decision affirmed that Alh. Modu Sheriff is the authentic national Chairman of PDP thereby laying to rest the leadership tussle in the party. It would be recalled that Senator Ahmed Makarfi is said to be the Chairman of a Caretaker Committee set up by the party during the party’s  national convention in  Port Harcourt, May 21 last year. A decision Alh. Sheriff had been contesting.

However, Senator Markafi -led Caretaker Committee has indicated its intention to appeal the judgement. The musical chair continues.
