The Supreme Pontiff, Pope Francis has died. An official statement is being expected from the Vatican on that.

The late Pope has been in and out the hospital in the past months fuelling speculations that his health had failed.

A new process of selecting a new Pope would be put in motion promptly.

Details of his death and funeral would be announced later.
