Muhammed Babangida debunks rejection of appointment as BOA chairman.

Muhammed Babangida, the son of the former military Head of State, Ibrahim Babangida, has debunked the news making rounds that he rejected his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the chairman of Bank of Agriculture. In a statement released in the wake of the viral letter purportedly signed by him, he said it was a the handiwork of people bent on misleading the public.

In the alleged misleading letter dated 21st July, 2025 titled: Re: Declining appointment as the chairman of Bank of Agriculture, Muhammed said he was rejecting the appointment stemming from “a convergence of personal and professional considerations which, at this time would not at this time allow me to serve with the level of focus and commitment the position lightly demand”. But the former presidents son declared that the letter was not from him.

It would be recalled that the President last week named Muhammed Babangifa as the Chairman of Bank of Agriculture among other appointments he made. If the rejection of the appointment was true, it would have been interpreted by political analysts as a pointer to the fact that Tinubu was rejected by the Ibrahim Babangida household.
