Armed men believed to be security agents allegedly from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC this Monday evening invaded the premises of Urban FM Radio, Enugu, tortured staff present and whisked away from a live studio, a presenter, Ms Favour Eko.

It was not certain why the agents took the action ,however, an eye witness who preferred anonymity said that the staff were humiliated and made to sit on the bare floor. Fingers are being pointed at the government as the possible mastermind of the action aimed at gagging the press.

Urban Radio, a Frequency Modulated channel, is very popular for its populist programmes mostly audience participatory and noted for publicising views of the critical segment if rhe society. A private outfit owned by the Mr Chike Madueke family of Inyi, Oji River Local Government Area of Enugu state. He is related to Allison madueke, a retired Naval General.

As a the time the security agents invaded the station, Prime Time, a live interview programme was on air and the presenter, Eko, was taken away. It was not clear if the guest was also arrested.
