An Umuahia High Court has declared as illegal the invasion by armed soldiers of the residence of the leader of the Independent Peoples of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

The court further awarded a cost of One billion Naira against the Federal Government of Nigeria at whose behest it was believed that the security agents undertook the invasion and ordered it to issue a public apology to Kanu.

Kanu, who is presently in detention in Abuja had filed a suit through his Counsel, Barr. Alloy Ejimakor to enforce his fundamental rights.
