Kidnapped Anambra commissioner freed

Kidnapped Anambra State Commissioner for Public Utilities Emeka Ezenwanne has been freed. He was freed about 1am on Sunday. Police spokesman Ikenga Tochukwu said Ezenwanne’s freedom followed a joint intense search by the military, police and other security agencies.

He said: “The commissioner returned home unhurt in the early hours of April 4. He was abducted following the attack at Isuofia Civic Center, where three policemen were killed. Five suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident and there is a manhunt for the fleeing others.”
